1976 Super Bowl X MVP Lynn Swann, WR, Pittsburgh Steelers
A hard-fought contest pitting two exceptionally sound all-around NFL teams, the Pittsburgh Steelers held off a late charge by the Dallas Cowboys to prevail 21-17 in the 1976 Super Bowl. Defensive stalwart Glen Edwards intercepted a Dallas pass in the end zone on the games final play enabling the Pittsburgh Steelers to win their second straight Super Bowl.
Steelers future Hall of Fame quarterback Terry Bradshaw had 209 yards passing, including two touchdown passes. Wide receiver Lynn Swann, the games MVP, caught four of Terry Bradshaws passes for 161 yards, including a brilliant 64-yard TD. Reggie Harrison, Steelers lineman blocked a Cowboy punt for a safety.

1977 Super Bowl XI January 9 1977 in Rose Bowl in Pasadena California Super Bowl History 1977 Super Bowl MVP – Fred Biletnikoff, ER, Oakland Raiders The Oakland Raiders scored early and often to defeat the Minnesota Vikings 32-14 in the 1977 Super Bowl XI. Oakland scored on three consecutive possessions to jump off to a 16-zip lead at halftime. MVP Fred Bilitnikoff played a big part in the Raiders Super Bowl win by pulling in four key first down passes for 79 yards. Raiders running back Clarence Davis dazzled the Vikings line for 137 yards and teammate Pete Banaszak bolted thru for two short touchdowns. Safety Willie Brown late game interception for a touchdown stifled any plans for a Minnesota score. The lost was the Minnesota Vikings fourth in Super Bowl Games, 1970, 1971, 1975 and 1977. The Cowboys well-regarded defense rose to the occasion and picked off four interceptions and recovered four fumbles to enable the Dallas offense to score 27 points and defeat the Denver Broncos 27-10 in the 1978 Super Bowl.
1978 Super Bowl Highlights: Butch Johnson made a spectacular diving catch of a Robert Newhouse pass for a 47-yard TD giving Dallas a 20-3 lead. And then, Robert Newhouse, the Cowboys quarterback, pitched a 29-yards touchdown pass to Golden Richards for the final Dallas TD.
Dallas defensive tackle Randy White and defensive end Harvey Martin were a big part of the effort that caused the fumbles and interceptions and were chosen the 1978 Super Bowl MVPs.
